A Wide Area Communication Network (WACN) encompasses single or multiple Project 25 compatible Trunking Systems, usually governed by different agencies, that inter-operate together and often cover a wide geographical area. A WACN typically consists of communications equipment from several manufacturers. Motorola ASTRO 25 radios are fully capable of operating within a P25 compatible WACN.
